PETA Defends Graphic Animal Mutilation In Lars von Trier’s ‘The House That Jack Built’
“PETA’s Senior Vice President Lisa Lange said in a statement emailed to Bloody Disgusting. “While depictions of gratuitous violence like this may leave viewers sickened, it’s true that serial killers, like the character in the film, often get their start by first torturing animals, making the scene all the more realistic and disturbing. PETA is also happy to report that the images of tigers in the movie were from stock footage.”

UMU reports on the latest news regarding the “Dark Universe.”
“It’s very exciting to see movement on Universal’s Dark Universe, especially as news has been pretty dark since last year’s The Mummy released in theaters. While there have been rumors that the Dark Universe department was given the stake through the heart, Mr. Vargas’ post is proof enough that the Dark Universe is still a thing. I couldn’t be happier to see this, especially in seeing the continued involvement of concept artist Crash McCreery.”

James Ransone & Andy Bean Join ‘It: Chapter Two’
“The sequel portrays the kids, who were tormented by Pennywise, as adults. McAvoy plays Bill, Hader is Richie, Chastain plays Beverly, and Bill Skarsgard returns as Pennywise.”

Feral
Release: May 25th, 2018

Your best friend has just been infected with a horrifying virus that will soon turn her into a rabid, rampaging cannibal-zombie. Do you: a) try to save her? or b) kill her before she kills you? That’s the nightmarish scenario six students find themselves facing when their celebratory camping trip goes terrifyingly wrong. One by one, each falls victim to the “feral” disease, until only Alice and Jules—two girlfriends testing the waters of their new relationship—are left standing, armed with a shotgun and holed up in a remote cabin. The Vampire And The Ballerina
Release: May 22nd, 2018
Format Blu-ray
Shot in and around the grounds of an ancient Italian castle, this creepy and atmospheric thriller follows a company of beautiful ballerinas on tour, when they become stranded within its sinister, stony old walls. They have no idea that a horror legend two thousand years old is about to come alive in the form of a group of vampires, all thirsting for blood ... especially their nefarious and brutal queen. "Coupled with the smooth direction of Renato Polselli is some really fantastic cinematography that uses lighting and shadow effectively to make this film really come alive" (The Telltale Mind) ... and keep you firmly transfixed at the edge of your seat!
Of Unknown Origin
Release: May 22nd, 2018
Format: Blu-ray
When not mired in the corporate rat race, Wall Street executive Bart Hughes is king of his sleek Manhattan brownstone ... until he finds his castle under siege by the most determined of home intruders. Forced to enter a rat race of an entirely different sort, Bart takes a stand, with his survival and sanity at stake.
Peter Weller (RoboCop, Sons of Anarchy) stars in Of Unknown Origin, an eerie and nerve-tingling suspense thriller directed by George P. Cosmatos (Tombstone, Cobra) and the winner of Paris International Film Festival Awards for Best Picture and Actor. Cleverly and compellingly, the film draws you into a battle of wits, namely one with an intruder that's formidable, persistent and clever enough to lure Bart (Weller) along on an unwitting path to self-destruction. In the battle of man vs. beast, push has come to scream.

Horror At The Box Office
Not much in the horror spectrum for theaters this week with the exception of returning films ‘Breaking In’ and 'A Quiet Place’ which are still bringing in some money while being inside the top ten films.
Otherwise, ‘Deadpool 2’ has decided to take over the first place position from 'Infinity War’, something I'm Josh Brolin is happy to see.
Indie support
Hide Or Die - Asymmetrical Horror Royale
This game has been making the rounds online and has reached a wide audience in a short amount of time. Hide or Die is an asymmetrical horror royale where all players start together in an underground bunker. After the doors slide open the survivors flood the area looking for items, supplies, objectives, and if they choose to; the darkness. I wouldn't be surprised to see this title played across twitch from many streamers and gamers alike in the future. Definitely give this one some support. Check the trailer in the Kickstarter. That should be all the convincing you need.

HORROR SHOP OF THE WEEK: PSEUDO LUDO
It’s criminal that it took me this long to feature one of my absolute favorite horror shops, Pseudo Ludo. Run by two very talented artists, a husband and wife team, this small business is one of the first I discovered on Instagram and fell madly in love with…beginning my indie horror shop love affair.
Perhaps it’s taken me so long to feature Pseudo Ludo because words always seem inadequate to describe how much I adore this shop and the two incredibly kind and generous people who run it. Honestly, these are two of the absolute best people I’ve met in the horror/indie community — and I’ve met some really amazing people.
While they mainly focus on unique enamel and handmade pins, products also include t-shits, buttons, magnets, and incredible art prints/posters. (Be sure to check out their killer Friday the 13th print in 3D that comes with 3D glasses!)
When Pseudo Ludo releases a new pin or bundle, it’s an event. Unlike other shops that rapidly crank out weekly and monthly releases, this shop takes it time — and it’s always well worth the wait.
Each release is a true work of art and brilliantly designed. From the pin itself to the packaging, there is such a loving attention to detail that often includes handcrafted elements and wonderful extra touches. From concept to execution, each release is marked by tremendous creativity and style.
These are pins you can’t get anywhere else. I’m an obsessive pin collector and have several boards full of them. But my Pseudo Ludo pins are truly special and easily rise to the cream of the crop. These are pins I prominently display with enormous pride.
I get giddy when Pseudo Ludo announces a new release. I try to order everything they put out, and I do believe I own (if not all) at least the vast majority of their current and sold out product offering.
And, as if Pseudo Ludo wasn’t already the absolute coolest in my book, they also partnered with one of my favorite cult film distributors, Severin Films, to produce jaw dropping pins as part of Severin’s special new release bundles.
I could not love this shop more, and I truly think you will love them as well! Check out the Pseudo Ludo store at https://pseudoludo.bigcartel.com/and follow them on Instagram at @pseudo_ludo.
