Paramount COO Andrew Gumpert Reflects on ‘Cloverfield,’ Premium VOD and Losing Jordan Peele
“Asked by Ziffren if there was any deal he regrets Paramount letting slip through its fingers, Gumpert cited the example of Jordan Peele, who rose to fame on Viacom-owned Comedy Central but ended up making his breakout directorial debut, “Get Out,” at Universal Pictures.
Gumpert believes had Viacom been operating in a less silo-ed fashion, Peele could have been lured over to Paramount to make his movie.”

MARK HAMILL WANTS A STAR WARS HORROR MOVIE ABOUT A FORCE GHOST
"You know what I'd love to see?", the Luke Skywalker actor told IGN in an interview. "A Force Ghost that's, like, actually frightening. Not somebody that's beatifically smiling down from the clouds or coming to give exposition - you know, a ghost is scary! But we'll see. My work here is done.”

Mega Rare Cut of ‘The Shining’ With Never Seen Deleted Scene Goes Up for Auction
“Long cut of the original film The Shining containing the scene in which Wendy, played by Shelley Alexis Duvall, carries Danny, played by little Danny Lloyd. These cuts, given by Kubrick to D’Alessandro, are particularly rare because the director notoriously burned all the leftovers at the conclusion of the editing.”

Horror At the Box Office:
Pacific Rim: Uprising dethroned Black Panther after holding the top spot for five weeks running. The film was able to rake in over $28 million dollars domestically.
Also in its first week in, the Steven Soderbergh directed “Unsane” was unable to claw its way into the top ten as it held the eleventh spot, bringing in over $3.8 million dollars. Considering the film was completely recorded and edited with an iPhone, these are some pretty impressive numbers.
In other films, Strangers: Prey at Night dropped from eight to fourteen while Annihilation dropped down from eleven to eighteen.

HORROR SHOP OF THE WEEK: NAMELESS CITY APPAREL
When fellow journalist Kyle Laugh asked me to guest post on LongLiveTheVoid.com, a site I really enjoy and respect, I was honored and excited to jump at the chance — especially when the topic is so near and dear to my heart. He asked me to highlight some of my favorite lesser known Horror shops that deserve way more attention. The hardest part was picking one to start with, as there are so many killer shops out there I’m dying to introduce you to. But, since I just received a recent order from one of my favorite shops, I’m going to start with Nameless City Apparel, a small online clothing store offering a wide variety of apparel inspired by Horror and Alternative film and literature.
There are a ton of jaw-dropping designs that will appeal to genre fans. As a former English major and serious lit nerd, I love how many designs pay homage to some of the great Horror fiction writers, including Stephen King, Mary Shelley, Thomas Fahy, and Bram Stoker. The site offers a great selection of tees, tanks, baseball tees, and totes — with truly unique and stylish designs you won’t find anywhere else. The quality is exceptional, and most items come pre-laundered and ready to wear. This gives the ink that soft to the touch feel and prevents the item from fading or shrinkage. It’s that extra special love and care that helps separate this amazing shop from so many others.
Beyond how drool-worthy the designs are and how great these shirts look when you put them on, the main reason I’m such a strong supporter of this site is because of how much the shop owner truly loves his customers and the Horror community. He’s one of the kindest, most genuine people you’ll ever meet. He’s so supportive of other indie shops and small businesses and is always going out of his way to spread the love and encouragement. THIS is the kind of shop you can feel good about giving your hard earned money to.

*Note : With this and all future shop recommendations, I’m not compensated in any way for these reviews. These are shops I actually patronize and regularly support. They are shops I honestly think you will fall in love with like I have.
