Uwe Boll getting ready for a boxing match with Critics.

“Director Uwe Boll went on his own 'rampage' via social media to lay into Warner Bros about their latest project, even going as far as threatening to sue them! So why the salt? You may not know, but Boll made his own film titled Rampage and though it has absolutely nothing to do with this project, he doesn't care. He took to Twitter to launch fire at the "fake" Rampage movie and ... it got awkwardly ugly, fast.”

Horror At The Box Office:

013.jpg

Not an abundance of news from the theatrical front this week but what we have, we will work with.

Although it took the top spot last week, Pacific Rim: Uprising has dropped down to fifth place while Ready Player One (Which features some of our favorite horror heroes) destroyed the competition by raking in over $41 million domestically and ultimately taking over first place.

In other reports, both Strangers: Prey at Night and Annihilation are quickly sliding off the chart taking the twentieth and twenty-second slots respectively.

Indie Support:

Beyond Night: A Horror Anthology Feature Film

014.jpg

“Beyond Night is an ambitious new horror project - an interlinked horror anthology with elements of the classic anthology series of old. Think The Twilight Zone, Tales from the Crypt, The Outer Limits or more modern shows such as American Horror Story. The story is designed to keep the viewer on the edge of their seat and second guessing everything they see as the story reaches it's terrifying conclusion.”

COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT

HORROR SHOP OF THE WEEK: BOOGEYWOLF

cropped-cropped-WEB-BOOGEYBANNER-1.png

As much as I geek out over killer designs and cool products, what really sets a shop apart from any other is the passion behind the products. One shop that definitely deserves a tremendous amount of love from the Horror community is Boogeywolf.

020-Shop.jpg

Run by an extremely talented artist who custom prints shirts from the back of his van, this shop features a variety of unique horror-inspired designs in a range of styles, including men and women’s cut tees, baseball tees, and tanks (as well as hats, pins, patches, and more).

I absolutely love his aesthetic. Lots of black and white and pops of red. Simple, but striking. As a gifted illustrator, even his logo is one of the coolest I’ve ever seen — and definitely something you’d be proud to wear on a shirt or other merchandise.

018-Shop.jpg

But what really makes Boogeywolf so special? He goes out of his way to support and nurture other artists and small businesses in the community. He regularly sponsors huge giveaways, like the amazing Beetlejuice 30th Anniversary giveaway going on now, that are exclusively designed to garner more exposure for other deserving shops and creatives. He’s even helping to sponsor a current mega raffle to help get a fellow horror shop back on her feet after a devastating fire (click here to learn more).

Boogeywolf lives by the mantra “Collaboration Over Competition”. He’s as generous and kind as he is talented, and he definitely deserves your support.
