It is with great sadness that I post this last article to tell you all this terrible news, but Dr.LoveGore one of our our Writers and good friend has passed. He was far too loved and far too young to go. He spent a lot of time on this site in the early days of us starting up to share his undying love of horror . Not just for him but with everyone. I wanted to honor his passion and his outlook on things as an example of one of the good ones who wanted to spread his love and joy of the genre we all hold so dear.
I don’t want to get into the reasons of his passing or all the details of everything just to be respectful of his Friends & loved ones including his Girlfriend whom he loved dearly. Instead I want to talk about how I (Alex) met him and a little about who he was to me. I’m sure that may echo for everyone who has met him as a celebration of his life. Plus, share some of his TOP 10 Most Viewed Articles that he made on this site. To continue to share his love of horror for many years to come or as long as I can afford to keep the site up.
I want to personally thank Lance AKA Purrly on HORROR AMINO for Reaching out to me to let me know and coordinating with me to make this piece. Thank you buddy.

When we first started the podcast we joined a site and app that is called AMINO. For those not familiar with the app. It’s an app you can create whatever fan posts you want. Sort of your very own website like we have here, only for 100% Free (minus ads). I joined a group called HORROR AMINO. I quickly met a lot of wonderful people who were like me interested in sharing their love and passion of horror every day. One of those people I met was Dr.LoveGore. Who always seemed to make these wonderful long posts about his top favorite kills or movies. He would use GIFs as a means to capture all the glorious GORE that we loved in those scenes too. That was sort of his thing and the way things ran on HORROR AMINO.
After a few year or so of checking out his posts and enjoying the sheer amount of time he put into crafting these long and awesome posts. I had an idea. What if he also shared that love and passion elsewhere too. I had just started Longlivethevoid.com a few years back and asked him if he would like to join us. I explained we didn’t make any money on ads.. just did it for the passion. He was very quick to say he’d love to do that. I let him do whatever he wanted. Which he ended up doing a lot different things for the site! Like Reviews, Top Lists, and Love Pieces about Supernatural the show.
We quickly became fast friends as I always admired that how much he loved horror. It was all about helping people find their favorite movies and sharing that comradery with others. Nothing is better than finding someone who loves that one special horror movie that nobody really remembers but should be seen by everyone. Plus, as a horror fan I’m sure you guys know finding someone deeply into horror as you can be pretty tough in a small town sometimes. So , We sort of bonded over that.
I soon learned that he also was into music.. all kinds really but that he actually also RAPPED!? He was actually really good at it too. If I can find a way to share his work with you I will. Even if it’s later. I will share it on this article. We also bonded over that because we both loved all kinds of music. Made music and loved creativity.
Soon after he invited me to be apart of the GOREsquad. Which was a sub group of Horror Amino that delved into contests to see who could name each gif each week or month. Also to just bring a bunch of us together. He did this all while helping to write many wonderful articles for our site too. He was always very dedicated to sharing those bonds with people anywhere and everywhere he could.
I also remember when he would write these articles for our site that I would have to spend hours editing, crafting the perfect look for each of those pieces. Not nearly as long as he spent on making them. We would go back and forth on the particulars which drove me crazy sometimes with how specific he was with each word even. He really wanted these to be absolutely perfect for everyone to enjoy. Which even though it drove me crazy I understood because that’s how you are when you care so deeply about something like he did. He did that (I don’t doubt) with just about everything and everyone he touched. So, I appreciated that and I respected it.
That’s something about him I also admired. Online you see so many people who will want to be noticed more than they want to share their passions. What I mean by that is that sometimes we get so carried away with sharing that I think we sometimes forget that we are celebrating the things we love. Sometimes people will cash in on 10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT HORROR or… 10 Movies that are TRASH!. Dr.LoveGore never really did that. He just wanted to share all the horror movies that he loved. To be positive in the genre and be excited about the movies we cherish. After all there are so many movies we can talk about that we love. Why focus on the negatives. I’m sure some church lady is probably like “How can you say that when you share so many horrific and disturbing images?!” It’s a horror thing lady. You probably won’t understand.
Anyways, My point of all this is that he was a huge passionate ball of creative, fun, talented, dedicated, loving and a very positive person. One of the good ones that deserved to be around for a helluva lot longer to spread all that joy with all of us. Which makes me even more sad that I didn’t spend more time with him. We had always planned to do a podcast episode together. We didn’t end up doing it… Partly my fault because I am always working too hard on projects or constantly picking myself up again. I regret it deeply.
I guess, that’s the lesson we all learn with the passing of someone we know or as awesome as he was. Is that nothing ever lasts forever. That we need to embrace, celebrate, enjoy and honor our friends & families lives while we have them. Or the groups we join, the friends we make along our path. That sometimes our lives and negativity can get in the way of some greatness right in front of us. Or from a complete strangers who we might not always agree with. Be positive and celebrate the commonalities we share all around us. Within or outside of Horror.
With that said I’m sure many of us will miss him and I think a great way to send him off and to keep his spirit alive. Is to share the things we love the most over the things we hate the most. Just like Dr.LoveGore did and can STILL do through all his wonderful posts, articles and more. Let us bond over his hard work, the horror movies we share, the rap songs we create and the gore we love to soak our eyeballs in each day.
We will miss you brother. Thank you for giving so much to everyone along the way. Thank you for helping me in my little site. Thank you for being a friend even if we didn’t get to know each other as well as we should have.
