We all know about the big companies out there giving us horror, from production companies like Blumhouse churning out original films to more independent ones like A24. Who doesn't have horror movies released by Arrow, Scream Factory, Criterion, etc. But what about the little guys?
Having more time to watch new/old movies and TV shows due to quarantine time has brought me to finally watch what I've put off for far too long. I'm talking about a TV series involving two young brothers who, through the orders of their father, hunt demons, werewolves, vampires, and every other "supernatural" entity to ever be thought of.
Short horror films have become much more popular over the years and it makes sense. How many horror movies have you watched that were just too damn long? Forced to fit into that 90 minute runtime and filled with so much fluff. I have said many a time, damn, that would have worked better as a short or anthology segment
I'm back for more because there are always more, today I'm looking once again at big actors who got their start in horror. Ah yes, the red headed stepchild of Hollywood launches many a career and today we are looking at ten more such careers. So let's just get into it, shall we? See if we can surprise you yet again...

Some people don't like gore in their horror, nothing wrong with that. But for those of us who do, we seriously cannot get enough of it. There's just something about seeing human bodies ripped apart in such visceral ways that brings a smile to a gorehound's face. Practical FX only of course. So let's just dive into this very NSFW compilation of ten of the goriest horror movies ever made, part one of ???
Well this should certainly be a gorehound's delight. There really isn't much that is more brutal than watching someone's entire head disappear into an explosion of blood and gore. And sure an exploding head has been done many times but some are pretty awful, and some don't even have any gore, which is bizarre *cough*Chopping Mall*cough*. So let's get into this, loaded with GIFs for gory goodness.
Found footage horror movies. There are a ton of them these days and frankly people seem to either love them or hate them. Personally, I rather enjoy a good found footage movie. But that's the problem because so many are very, very bad. And yet here I am, watching every one I can get my hands on. So I figure I can do a public service and make a quick list of some obscure ones that I found particularly great. Of course this is all subject to personal opinion, but maybe you will find something here you love.
Ah, the fear of eyeball trauma, honestly it's a pretty common fear, or aversion. I love seeing eyeball stuff in horror because it's just one of those areas of the body you don't want disturbed. Despite backlash behind portraying stereotypical criminal roles, the movement was also praised for finally introducing black characters as heroes. While blaxploitation cinema was primarily action and drama oriented, there was also a small uprising of blaxploitation horror films, and today we're looking at eight of the best and most influential films of the 1970s.
Been really sad about legendary film maker Stuart Gordon's passing and I went straight to my shelf to find movies of his to watch. This is my Top 5 list of his movies that I love. He made so many good ones. Rest in Peace brother you will never be forgotten. We will all miss you. Thank you for making a mark on us all.
These are the kind of movies that could never be palatable by the faint of heart. You will see no Saws or Hostels on this list because, frankly, that's bush league. The following movies hit hard and they never let up, for various reasons.
